This is a call to arms for the annual summer working bee on Ben Lomond. Come along with your garden appliances and assist to trim and mulch the slopes in selected approved areas. Register on the day at the Ben Lomond Snow Sports Building. Lets make the 2019 snow season as productive as possible together each hand can make a difference.
What to bring? We need people who can competently (safely) operate their own motorised hedge trimmers or brush cutters to trim bushes – we do not have equipment – it is byo. There will be a mulcher on site, so we can use some volunteers to mulch cuttings and fill in holes. Minimum safety gear includes glasses, earmuffs and gloves. Apart from trimming bushes, there are more than enough rocks to pick up and fill in holes – this helps control erosion and keep our skis and boards in one piece.
A safety briefing will be provided and pointers to where we are working on the slopes.
On Saturday evening we plan to have a basic BBQ (i.e. meat and sauce) and provide a few drinks – but we’re more than open to the donation of salad and dessert on the night.
