Good evening snowgoers! Things are starting to freeze over on Ben Lomond with a significant fall of snow and a solid freeze is expected tonight. Cold temperatures are expected to continue through the week with possible follow up snow forecast overnight and again next weekend. Road Conditions – Ben Lomond road and the car park has been cleared today but there will be snow ice on the road from the park registration area and in particular Jacob’s ladder, the plateau and car park, all vehicle operators are urged to take care with sub zero temperatures. Vehicle operators should consider the conditions follow directions and observe all road signage when venturing up to the snowfields. Parks and Wildlife will be providing official updates through the Ben Lomond Committee which will be published at www.benlomond.org.au and to our social media platforms as available throughout the season.
Alpine Enterprises will be keeping the public updated on their new website www.alpineenterprises.com.au. Today’s report looks promising for a potential start-up of lifts in the morning so watch out for their morning update!

Ben Lomond Snow Sports have also recently refreshed their website www.skibenlomond.com.au and have information regarding on mountain gear hire and transport from the park registration area so check out any updates there too.

Ben Lomond Alpine Hotel are continuing to keep the public updated on their Facebook and Instagram pages on developments with their new set up for season 2018 so get behind them and support their efforts to be open within such a short timeframe.

Amenities and public spaces have been Parks and Wildlife’s main focus the last 6-8 weeks with temporary public shelter located at the top of the village car park and a toilet block close at the beginning of the main village street. Two new toilets are also installed at the Ben Lomond Snow Sports building adjacent to the toboggan area and a larger public shelter and toilets have been fitted up at the Northern Tasmania Alpine Club who have a formal arrangement in place to open part of their facility as a public shelter for the 2018 season.
