The Ben Lomond Committee is the representative body for Lodges, Businesses and associations on Ben Lomond in Tasmania. We provide a communication portal to our stakeholders and interested members of the public who have an interest in Ben Lomond.
The Ben Lomond Committee (BLC) was formed in 2007 as a result of the amalgamation of the Ben Lomond Village Committee and the Ben Lomond Business Association. This was influenced by the imminent demise of the Ben Lomond Skifield Management Authority and the need for the stakeholders to be seen as a cohesive body truly representative of the Ben Lomond National Park users.
The BLC has promoted itself as the peak stakeholders group in all dealings with the Parks and Wildlife Service in areas of policy and management. The BLC has established its scope of operations to include management, promotion, events, communications, fieldworks and mountain operations.
The Committees primary goal this year is to:
- Improved communication;
- Increase on-mountain activities and;
- Boost participation.
