With 15-20cm of fresh snow yesterday things are looking mint on the slopes this morning. Pack your bags people, the mountain’s teams at Alpine Enterprises, Snow Sports and the Alpine Hotel are ready for your arrival to cater for your every need. Lifts and Conditions – Alpine Enterprises are hard at work today and have two lifts going first up and more coming online through the day with Summit and Fannies this afternoon and Bills lift tomorrow. Stay updated on the current conditions at www.alpineenterprises.com.au
Amenities and public spaces have been Parks and Wildlife’s main focus the last 6-8 weeks with temporary facilities now in place in the main village area (top of carpark / Village Rd) and adjacent to the NTAC building above the toboggan slope area. Two toilets have also been constructed adjacent to the Snow Sports building at the base of the ski slopes.
Road Conditions – Road Conditions currently require 2wd Vehicles to fit chains and the grader is busy clearing the road and car park in preparation for the weekend, live road updates from the parks team can be obtained by calling 0429646557. All vehicles driving beyond the entry station prior to the Carr Villa Rd turnoff within the Ben Lomond National Park, during the snow season (June – October), must carry correctly fitted snow chains at all times. It is the responsibility of drivers to determine when they may need to fit chains unless directed to do so by PWS staff. Chains are not available for hire on the mountain.
No Chains? – Transport – Visitors not carrying chains are advised to find alternative transport to the ski village. Snow Sports operate a transport service adjacent to the base mountain car park. If catching the transport, where there is not a there bus there please call Snow Sports on landline 6390 6185 or mobile 0427 318 984 for pickup. The service is $15 per person return, or $50 for a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 children under 16 years). Transport takes you directly to the top carpark, next to the main boardwalk.
Parks passes – Visitors to Ben Lomond National Park are required to display a current Parks Pass. Due to vandalism previous self registration booths have been removed. All Visitors are encouraged to get their pass online through the parks portal so get prepared, save the hassle and drive right to your par spot with no hassles on your arrival to the mountain. Click here to buy your pass. Day passes can be purchased in the Village Car Park. Visitors not displaying a current pass may be issued with an infringement notice.
Due to recent theft and vandalism, please ensure that your car is left secure and no valuables are left in your vehicle regardless of where it is parked at Ben Lomond.
