[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Still very cold on the mountain this morning and a dusting of snow before the day fined up yesterday. It’s currently -1.6  degrees, winds are north westerly at over 30 knots (60 km) with stronger gusts. Following a fair amount of de-icing yesterday and some serious tower climbing (See below) to get ice off every tower and wire crews managed to get 3 lifts running. Crews did all they could during the day to keep up with the challenges presented. Yesterday there were 162 cars up top and 83 at the transport pickup near the registration booth. Come up for a meal in front of the fire at the Ben Lomond Alpine Hotel.

CONDITIONS: Current visibility is low and a small amount of snow is trying to fall. Snow conditions are good with a fresh cover of snow.

LIFTS: Subject to changing weather conditions, Alpine Enterprises will be operating 3 lifts and working on de-icing Bills again on the back slopes today.

ROAD CONDITIONS: Parks and Wildlife can confirm that the road has a fair amount of wind blown snow on the drive up. 2WD vehicles to fit chains today. Snow is expected to as low as 400 metres this afternoon and evening so please be prepared and follow any instructions from Park Officials. If you’re travelling to the mountain today don’t forget that chains are required if you are venturing past the park registration car park. No Chains? No Worries!

TRANSPORT: Two transport buses, are running throughout the day collecting snow goers from the bottom car park at the Parks and Wildlife Service entry station and deliver you to the car park at the base of the boardwalk. If you are catching the bus you do not need to hire chains! Call 03 6390 6185  (TELSTRA SIGNAL) for a pickup or to arrange a booking. Prices are $15 per person or $50 for a family of 4 return

What’s Happening: Today junior skiers and boarders will be training in preparations for the Ben Lomond Junior Races scheduled to be held on 9 August 2015. Parents are encouraged to bring their kids to register at Felix Race Hut and help set up for training commencing 11am Sunday for race training.
