Tomorrow marks 40 days of concurrent lift operations on Ben Lomond and on the back of the coldest winter in 50 years, this represents a couple of milestones which 2015 will be remembered by.

  1. Snow conditions comparable with the best ski seasons on record, like 1992
  2. Most consistent lift operations since the mid 2000’s running 26 July to 6 September
  3. Stable snowfalls which have allowed ongoing operations
  4. Only 1 day where lifts were on hold due a storm force blizzard

Following a review of this year’s lift operations a decision has been made to cease lift operations after this Sunday, the 6th of September.  numbers have decreased significantly in the past week, so this is your alert to make the most of what is still a good cover of snow tomorrow, and throughout the weekend.

To add to the excitement of this weekend’s final hurrah, Ben Lomond Snow Sports are coordinating a Super Saturday Family Funday  (see flyer below) and to top it all off, are offering all fathers free ski or board hire on Sunday for Father’s day.

Tomorrow and through the weekend all the mountain businesses will be fully operational and encourage locals and tourists to come up and experience the mountain for themselves, or come back for one last slide for the season.

Media are encouraged to come up and share the 2015 Ben Lomond story about the fabulous snow season with mountain businesses over the next three days. With such great snow, this is the last opportunity to shout out that winter isn’t finished just yet!  For more information contact media spokesperson Adrian Beswick on 0438 253 111

Lift operators, Alpine Enterprises are heralding the season as a one that demonstrates consistency and reliability in lift operations giving confidence back to snow lovers that they can rely on the lifts turning when the snow has fallen.

The Ben Lomond Committee has continued its involvement in daily reporting with the assistance of Alpine enterprises through the committee’s website  www.benlomond.org.au, regular www.ski.com.au snow reports and updates on associated social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter.

Are you a member of a lodge on the mountain? If not, perhaps it’s time to check out some of the memberships that are available. Don’t assume that lodges are too costly to join; some memberships are as little as the cost of a night’s accommodation in a hotel and give you year round access to facilities. Find out more about the lodges within the village by checking out their pages located on the Members – Lodges and Businesses section of the www.benlomond.org.au website.

Don’t forget to like us, the committee and the other businesses on Facebook to stay updated on whats on offer on the mountain:
