PWS Road UPDATE – The grader has been called to clear the road. All vehicles to fit chains and follow the direction of parks and wildlife staff on duty. there is about 5cm snow on the road and the snow is currently soft underfoot but crusty and slippery on the plateau.
Don’t want to drive up? Two buses are located on the mountain 24/7. Collect from the bottom car park at the Parks and Wildlife Service registration booth and can deliver you to the car park at the base of the boardwalk. If you are catching the shuttle you do not need to hire chains. PRICE: $15 return or $50 for a family of 4.
