Following a wild day on the mountain reports suggest storm force winds are easing but there will be little reprieve according to the forecast which is for winds to swing westerly and ease during the day on Friday. About 1cm of snow has fallen but much more will be needed overnight to reestablish what has been lost over the last week.
Camera’s watching the mountain are covered showing continued buildup, its a wait and see situation people. The Mountain road may be graded in the morning depending on the amount of snowfall overnight. Conditions will be icy so please be well prepared should you be considering a trip into any alpine or elevated areas this evening.
Snow is forecast down to 500 metres tonight and down to 200 in the morning. More information will be sent out as its available.
